Gary Glenn wages war for family values

The following is a statement by Auburn Hills Mayor Tom McMillin in a year-end report to his supporters:
“The brightest development in 2000 in Michigan was the rise to prominence of the American Family Association of Michigan and its leader, Gary Glenn.
In all of the issues I mention above (so-called “gay rights” ordinances in Ferndale and Royal Oak, the Boy Scouts’ stand on homosexuality, and UM’s “How to be Gay” class), Gary was really the leader for our cause. He has provided an articulate, well-reasoned voice for our values. He is usually in the major state newspapers and TV several times a week and is involved in organizing hundreds and thousands of activists statewide.
The other “pro-family” groups have been basically silent on issues that really require them to take tough, strong stands. Please remember this next time you talk with any of these groups and during your financial giving (AFA-Michigan’s number is 989-835-7978).
We need in Oakland County and surrounding counties to form local chapters of the American Family Association of Michigan. We need to organize our voices and give an avenue for those who would like to be involved in the more defining issues that AFA tackles so valiantly.”
