—————————————————————————- WLNS-TV Channel 6 Governor on collision course with party Governor Rick Snyder may be on a collision course with the conservative wing of his party over the Right to Work issue. That issue would give union workers the right to drop out of their unions without fear of being fired. The conservative wing of the state GOP has been patiently waiting for the governor to complete work on the budget, and now with that out of the way, some of those conservatives want to move to the social agenda. Radio ads, in Lansing and elsewhere, call for the governor to take up Right to Work legislation. The (American Family Association of Michigan) ad says Christians should not be forced to support unions that support homosexual marriage or transgender rights. The fact that the governor has shied away from conservative wedge issues, calling some of them divisive, leads this national conservative to questions the governor’s GOP credentials. Dick Morris, conservative pollster: “I think he would be a wonderful GOP governor of Michigan if he could remember he was a republican.” Mr. Snyder has repeatedly said, being governor, for him, is not about party labels. Governor Snyder: “I don’t want to view it as just Republican and Democrat.
